Elise is a graduate from the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. Studying there opened the door to performing in festivals all over Europe while studying historical clarinets; their history, how to play them, and how to construct them. Now after returning to the US, Elise splits her time between studying clarinet construction and repairing clarinets of all ages, as well as playing historical clarinets around the country in groups such as Grand Harmonie and Mercury, the Orchestra Redefined. Her clarinet is a 6 key Bb (A, register, E/B, F#/C#, Ab/Eb, and C#/G#) made by Joel Robinson. It is based off of an 8 key clarinet by Heinrich Grenser who was a very well respected maker around the turn of the 19th century.
